Public Housing in Huntsville
The Huntsville Housing Authority has been quietly buying up apartment buildings in the city to spread out the people currently in public housing. Section 8 vouchers will be used to pay for a lot of them to live in this new subsidized housing. There has been a great deal of angst about this as the city has not told people where the new concentrations of residents will be. Also people currently living in the apartments will be forced to leave if they make too much money. The Huntsville Times reports on the issue here. The answer to their question, as The Atlantic found out, is probably yes.

Man thinks Step Father was Zodiac Killer
This California tv report seems to indicate that the Zodiac Killer has been found. Unfortunately he is dead. The only other real explanation is that it is some huge hoax. See more from CBS13 here.

Scary Computer Crime
This must be the nightmare of any CIO. One of San Francisco's administrators decided to take over their main network. He locked everyone out but himself. No details on why he did it: ego, blackmail, power?

I Don't Know If This Is the Kind of Representation I Would Want
One of McNamee's lawyers said today that it doesn't matter what happens to Clemens as President Bush will pardon him. That is quite a conspiracy theory. See the story here. If this is true the Grand Jury, trial and sentencing will have be quick.

Stupid Criminals
In the next town over somebody broke into the coke bottling plant by throwing a cinder block through the door. It has rained solidly for three days here, and the police followed a trail of muddy footprints to the motel next door to the break in site and arrested two men with a cinder block. I guess they forgot to look down.
