Twitter and Ustream.tv
I have a Ustream.tv show. Not that many people have seen it, but now they have it linked to Twitter so it will tweet when you are broadcasting. Pretty neat. So now my friends have no excuse to miss my broadcast.
Here is a link to my show.

Pat Buchanan Doesn't Know History
According to this post Pat Buchanan has become a Holocaust Denier. He seems to believe that if WWII hadn't started Hitler wouldn't have attempted to destroy the Jews. Conveniently he also blames the War on Churchill. I guess all those laws and attempts to remove Jews from German society from 1933-1939 were also caused by the War? This is just crazy. If I ran MSNBC he wouldn't show up there again.

Slow Newsday in Huntsville
About half of the Huntsville Times front page today is taken up with a photo and an article about Tiger. It is unlinkable as it is not on AL.com. Probably because it was written by the Associated Press. I know it is a big story, but it is a sports story. I guess there just wasn't anything else to write about.

Firefox 3.0
Like all of the geeks I downloaded and installed it. Still cannot use it at work. I guess earlier today they had issues, but at 1500 PDT I had none. Even better Better Gmail2 works great with it. I have to use it for a while to see if it is as good as the reviews say. See this for more.

City of Madison Goes for the Money
The City of Madison in the great state of Alabama recently annexed some land in the neighboring county down by the airport. The whole annexation in Alabama is screwy, but that is a longer post waiting to be written. A developer has come along and asked to build a $1 Billion mixed-use site there with stores, apartments and offices - pretty much what any developer proposes. The City approved it on Monday, as this story reports. The only dissenting voice was the Federal Aviation Administration who came along to point out that some of the apartments are in a high noise area of the airport. The City pooh-poohed that, saying it was no big deal. Believe me if you have lived in the area around an airport, especially on the landing approach, it can be a big deal. The airport also is only going to get busier. The FAA did this so that when somebody buys a house or moves into the apartment and sues they can point to the fact that they warned the City not to do this. The City of course is only after the money that such development brings, not really thinking about the long-term consequences.

Driving in Alabama
I learned to drive in Massachusetts and fought the crowded roads of Northern Virginia and thought I had seen a lot of things on the road. The local Alabamians and Tennessee folk drive in their own unique style, but Sunday took the cake. I was behind a minivan in the Loews' parking lot with a "Hang Up and Drive" bumper sticker. A fine sentiment as I often think that people here believe the car won't move if they aren't talking on their cell phones (a variation on Ford Prefect's theory about humans and their mouths). Unfortunately Mr. Opinion then proceeded to run a STOP sign and almost hit somebody. It was most hilarious!!

Excellent Firefox Add On
If you use Gmail and Firefox I heartily recommend Better Gmail 2. See this for more. It makes Gmail a lot easier to use and looks better too. Now if I could only get Firefox at work.

Driving to Work
The last four minutes of my commute to Timo Maas. I had to take the camera down before the gate as I figure security wouldn't care to be filmed.

Mission Move Blows Up in City's Face
The forced move of the Downturn Rescue Mission has now blown up in the face of Huntsville. The part of the city where it is moving doesn't want it. People are criticizing how much was paid, and how nothing can be done to overturn the deal, and also people are starting to question why it was done in the first place? It now turns out that the road straitening was not critical, but there was a vague promise of private investment in that area. See this for more.
